The Minister of Youth and Sports activities Improvement Sunday Dare Friday dissolved the boards of 31 Nationwide Sports activities Federations and constituted three-man Caretaker Committees to take cost of the federations.
The transfer is coming with simply 84 days to the start of the 2020 Olympic Video games in Tokyo.
The Caretaker Committees will run the affairs of the 31 federations till the inauguration of the brand new boards.
The minister, who was represented by the ministry’s Director of Federations, Elite Athletes Division, Dr. Simon Ebhojaiye, at a press convention in Abuja, mentioned the transfer was in step with the Olympic Constitution, which stipulated a four-year tenure for all sports activities federations’ boards, “following the expiration of the tenure of the Nationwide Olympic Sports activities Federations.”
